New Delhi (VNA) – A forum promoting Vietnam’stourism in India was held in New Delhi on December 14 as the last activity of theVietnam Days in India 2022 from December 12-14 on the occasion of the50th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties.
The forum was co-hosted bythe Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministryof Culture, Sports, Tourism of Vietnam and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (PHDCCI).
In his opening speech,Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai said it is the first time theGeneral Administration of Vietnam Tourism has taken a delegation of 12Vietnamese companies to India following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event aims to populariseVietnam as a new destination and facilitate B2B matching to better serve Indiantourists in the near future, he said.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sportsand Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong said in November, Vietnam welcomed 27,000 visitorsfrom India, up 31% month-on-month and 50% year-on-year. In the 11 months of this year, thetotal number of Indian visitors to Vietnam reached 109,000, ranking 5th out of the top 10markets of Vietnam.
PHDCCI Secretary General Sauraubh Sanyal vowed that PHDCCI will help theVietnamese Embassy hold activities promoting tourism between the two nations./.
