Hanoi (VNA) - Some 100free meals are being offered each day at the Peace Shop at 20 Thuy Khue Streetin Hanoi’s Tay Ho district to help those in need overcome the tough time triggeredby COVID-19.
Running from April 27 to 29, thecharity programme is co-hosted by the Centre for Women and Development underthe Vietnam Women’s Union and the Thien Duc Service JSC.
It aims to help poor and near-poorhouseholds, the disadvantaged (the disabled and those vulnerable to domesticviolence and victims of domestic violence), students in need, and migrant and foreignworkers in need, with priority given to women.
It is also giving away dried foodand clothing from 10am to 1pm or when supplies run out.
The centre also provides freeconsultations to women and children who are victims of domestic violence or abuseor who have returned from being trafficked.
It also supports women whosuffer a mental illness and promotes the use of face masks and hand sanitizer andthe practice of social distancing.
It continues to receive donationsfrom the community./.
