
Presenting the honour to the diplomat, VUFO President AmbassadorNguyen Phuong Nga said her tenure was a period of many important events in theVietnam - Mexico relationship between Vietnam and Mexico, particularly thecelebration of the 40th and 45th founding anniversaries of their diplomaticrelations in 2015 and 2020.
She noted that the ambassador actively promoted thehigh-level visit of the President of Mexico to Vietnam to attend the 2017 APECEconomic Leaders' Meeting – the first visit of a Mexican senior leader toVietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
During her time in Vietnam, Sarah Valdez Bolano has workedextensively to promote the nations’ cooperation across many fields frompolitics- diplomacy to trade, economy, education, culture, collaborationbetween localities, and people-to-people exchange.
Regarding economy-trade, the ambassador made efforts to promotethe concretisation of joint works between the two countries via the signing of manybilateral cooperation documents such as a memorandum of understanding on theestablishment of the joint committee on economic, trade and investment cooperationbetween the Secretariat of Economy of Mexico and the Vietnamese Ministry ofIndustry and Trade in 2016, and a cooperation agreement between the MexicanBusiness Council for Foreign Trade, Investment & Technology and the VietnamChamber of Commerce and Industry in 2019.
Nga hoped the Mexican diplomat will make furthercontribution to the Vietnam – Mexico traditional friendship and cooperation onher future posts.
Expressing her delight to receive the honour, Sarah ValdezBolano vowed to foster the growing friendship between the Vietnamese andMexican peoples.
