Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam – Germany Friendship Association (VGFA) held a get-together in Hanoi on October 11 to mark the 28th anniversary of German National Day (October 3).

Dung noted today’s fruitful Vietnam – Germany ties are based on the firm foundation of traditional and multifaceted relations.
He pointed to a key connection between the two nations, namely the more than 100,000 German-speaking Vietnamese in Vietnam and nearly 130,000 Vietnamese living in Germany.
The official said the VGFA has worked to improve its performance to diversify people-to-people activities and pledged to contribute more to Vietnam – Germany relations.
These ties have great potential to thrive further, particularly in economy, trade and investment, he added.
Germany is the biggest trade partner of Vietnam in Europe.
This year so far, Vietnam – Germany trade has hit about 3.5 billion USD. German-invested projects in Vietnam have amounted to 286, with total registered capital surpassing 1.4 billion USD.
