Get-together marks Vietnam-Slovakia diplomatic ties

The Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association on January 26 hosted a meeting of Vietnamese who once studied and worked in Slovakia to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Prominent among those at the function were Speaker of the Slovak National Council Pavol Paska and his wife, General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Dao Duy Tien and the Slovak Ambassador to Vietnam , Peter Svitek.

Speaker Paska said he hoped that generations of Vietnamese and Slovaks would uphold the tradition of friendship between the two countries.

Vice President of the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association Vu Ngoc Bao affirmed that Vietnamese people who had lived, studied and worked in Slovakia would strive to enhance bilateral relations and contribute to developing the ties in all fields.

Performers from Slovakia joined artists from Bac Ninh – the cradle of ‘love duet’ singing – in performing special Vietnamese and Slovakian songs and dances./.
