Hanoi (VNA) – As many as 1,000 Vietnamese youths and volunteers from 30 countries worldwide, social organisations and non-governmental organisations joined the Global Volunteering Day (GVD) 2018 event held in Hanoi on May 20.

The event was jointly held by the Volunteers for Peace Vietnam, the Embassy of Ireland in Hanoi and the Centre for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS).

The GVD has a diversity of activities and experiences for the youths, Irish Ambassador to Vietnam Cait Moran said at the opening ceremony. She expressed her hope that the event will become a large cultural and volunteer festival for those who love voluntary activities and want to discover different cultures in the world.

Domestic and international volunteers shared their knowledge under the event’s theme “Inequality: In or Out”.
