Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly deputies who are teachers and former teachers gathered at a meeting in Hanoi on November 17 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20).
The event was attended by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, among others.
Addressing the function, PM Phuc emphasised the important role played by education and training as well as teachers in national development, especially during the cause of industrialisation, modernisation and international integration.
He urged teachers to make more thorough preparations to contribute to national construction and development in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.
The PM’s views were echoed by NA Chairwoman Ngan who noted that the Party and State have always given top priority to education and the NA is responsible for completing a legal framework on education and training.
She lauded contributions made by NA deputies who are teachers and former teachers to finalising the legal system in general and laws on education and training in particular.-VNA
