Minister, Chairman of the Office of Government Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 23 hosted separate receptions given to the President of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) Kim In Kyu and Bunshichi Fujioka, Permanent Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Economic Forum.

Speaking at the reception to Kim In Kyu, Minister Phuc said that Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) should strengthen cooperation in organising practical activities to match the developmental potential and strategic partnership relations between the two nations.

He lauded the cooperative relations between KBS and Vietnam Television (VTV), expressing his hope that the two organisations would continue to promote cooperation to help the people of the two countries understand better each other’s culture and customs in particular the issue of Vietnamese – Korean marriages, thus strengthening mutual understanding, trust and multifaceted cooperation.

Kim In Kyu said KBS and VTV had reached cooperative agreements on information and image exchange and reportage. He affirmed that KBS is willing to share experiences and support VTV in professional works.

At the meeting the same day between Minister Phuc and Bunshichi Fujioka, the Permanent Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Economic Forum, who is on his working visit to Vietnam , expressed his hope of accelerating the construction of a scientific park in Vietnam , which will include education and training institutes and advanced and modern scientific research facilities within a friendly living environment.

According to Fujioka, the area could meet the developmental demands of Vietnam and was also a symbol of the Vietnam – Japan cooperation.

Phuc said the Vietnam Government fully support the scientific park project and always take care to create conditions for Japanese investors in doing business in Vietnam .

On this occasion, Phuc also expressed his compassion to the Japanese government and people over the losses caused by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan. /.
