Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed resolutions to ratify the number and the list of constituencies for the election of the upcoming People’s Councils for the 2011-16 term.
The resolutions also ratify the number of deputies to be elected at each constituency for the people’s councils of 63 cities and provinces.
Under the resolutions, Ho Chi Minh City has 32 electoral constituencies, the largest number. It is followed by the central province of Thanh Hoa with 31 and Hanoi with 30.
Two localities having the highest number of deputies to be elected are Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with 95 each.
The election for the People's Council at all levels for the 2011-16 term will take place on May 22 this year./.
