The Mekong Delta Green Tourism Week 2015 is set to take place in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho from June 27 to July 3, drawing the participation of tourism provinces, diplomatic agencies and foreign businesses.
Announcing the event at a conference on June 19, the Southwest Region Steering Committee said the highlights of the Green Tourism Week are activities to promote investment in eco-tourism and create links among regional provinces as well as between the region and other localities.
Head of the Committee Nguyen Phong Quang said that a number of programmes are scheduled at the Tourism Week, including a series of conferences on investment attraction, a trade and tourism fair, the Miss Delta Pageant finale, cuisine and street festivals and survey tours to potential destinations in Can Tho City and Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces.
According to the organising board, about 1,200 booths have registered to join the trade tourism fair. In addition, detailed plans have been made for logistics such as healthcare, security and communication.
