Hano​i (VNA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on April 7 headed a delegation to visit the Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam, on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay – Khmer New Year festival.

The Deputy Minister wished Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Hun Phany, embassy staff and their families, as well as the Cambodian government and its people a successful and prosperous new year.

The diplomat expressed his strong belief that Cambodia will continue to achieve significant progress in its socio-economic development, while affirming that the bonds between Vietnam and Cambodia have seen strong growth in all areas, particularly in people-to-people exchanges.

In return, Cambodian Ambassador Hun Phany thanked the Deputy Minister and they congratulated Vietnam’s newly-elected leaders, hoping they will lead the country to greater success in all major pillars of politics, economy and socio-culture.

He also highlighted that Vietnam’s development also brings many opportunities for Cambodia and Laos to grow together in the time ahead.-VNA
