Ha Giang honored as Asia’s leading cultural destination 2024

The northern mountainous province of Ha Giang has been honored as the Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024 by the World Travel Awards. See more in the following report.

The award ceremony took place on September 3 in Manila, the Philippines. The title is significant in the World Travel Awards’ categories, focusing on criteria related to cultural preservation, and sustainable development of natural resources and ecosystems.

Earlier, Ha Giang was recognized as Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2023.

The province is home to over 20 ethnic groups. Each ethnicity has their own language, traditions, and subculture.

Particularly, the Dong Van Karst Plateau in Dong Van district was recognized by UNESCO as a global geopark in 2010, marking it as the first of its kind in Vietnam and the second in Southeast Asia, following Langkawi Park in Malaysia./.
