The 2013 Vietnam-China International Industry and Trade Fair opened in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang on October 25 with over 500 stands.
The event, co-organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee, drew the participation of businesses from 28 cities and provinces in the northern region of Vietnam and Yunnan province in China.
The fair aims to promote cooperation and development in economics, investment, tourism and services between the Vietnamese and Chinese localities, said MoIT Deputy Minister Le Duong Quang.
On display are agricultural and industrial products, machinery, electronic equipment, handicrafts, pottery and wooden furniture.
The event, to run until October 31, offers an opportunity for businesses and industrial production facilities in the two countries’ rural areas to introduce their products, expand their markets and seek new partners.
It is expected to help raise export-import values between the two countries via the Thanh Thuy national border gate in Vi Xuyen district, Ha Giang.-VNA
