Ha Tinh: Needy people receive free health checks

Nearly 1,000 disadvantaged people in the central province of Ha Tinh received free health consultations, check-ups and medicine on October 11.

Nearly 1,000 disadvantaged people in the central province of Ha Tinh received free health consultations, check-ups and medicine on October 11.

The event was held as part of Joining Hands for Community Health, a humanitarian programme calling for efforts to care for needy people across the country from September 1 to November 30.

The beneficiaries came from four communes: Vuong Loc, Thanh Loc, Thien Loc and Yen Loc in Can Loc District.

The event organisers also presented gifts to 10 disadvantaged people in the district of 300,000 VND (13.30 USD) each.

Ha Tinh is among the 11 provinces implementing the programme: Bac Giang, Yen Bai, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan, Dong Nai, Ben Tre and Ca Mau.-VNA

Over 200 medical staff pledge organ donation in transformative campaign

At the launching ceremony for the campaign at the hospital on March 25, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tuan Canh, NOH Director underscored organ donation is a symbol of human compassion that transcends life itself, with each donated liver, kidney, cornea or tissue able offer a life-saving opportunity to those teetering on the edge of death.

PM releases instructions as measles cases increase

Vietnam has recorded nearly 40,000 suspected measles cases and five measles-related deaths since the beginning of this year. The southern region reported the highest number of cases (57%), the central region accounted for 19.2%, the north 15.1%, and the Central Highlands 8.7%.

Rota vaccine campaign launched

Titled 'Protect Your Baby from the First Steps', the campaign, jointly launched by UNICEF Vietnam and the Ministry of Health, seeks to enhance public awareness, particularly among parents, of the crucial role of the Rota vaccine in preventing acute diarrhoea caused by the Rotavirus.
