A programme aiming to help small- and medium-sized enterprises stave off consequences brought about by natural disasters was launched in Hai Phong port city on May 15.
The programme was organised by the municipal People’s Committee in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Peace Winds America (PWA) organisation.
The programme, which has a fund of 1,687,795 USD provided by USAID and is implemented in three years, will provide technical assistance for participating businesses to build their capacity of drawing up plans in response to disasters, minimising risks and accelerating post-disaster recovery.
Up to 2,000 enterprises will benefit from the activity with the first 10 companies chosen to take part in a training course on maintaining business activity in May.-VNA
