President of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao thanked thediplomats for their friendship and valuable cooperation with the capital cityover the past time and hoped they would continue to join hands in building amore civilized and modern Hanoi.

Moroccan Ambassador El Houcine Fardani,on behalf of the foreign diplomats, congratulated Vietnam on successfullydeploying a series of socio-economic development projects to become one of theeconomies registering the highest growth rate in the world.

Theseachievements have helped Vietnam strengthen the international community’s trust,the ambassador said, stressing that the country has played an active role inboth the regional and international arenas.

He said he believed thatVietnam will fulfil its ASEAN Chair in 2010 with successes and wished theVietnamese people peace, prosperity, happiness and success.

NA Vice President holds bilateral meetings on sidelines of IPU-153

Dien thanked her and the Parliament of Tanzania for hosting IPU-153 and acknowledging her contributions during her tenure as IPU President. He asked Ackson, as former President of the Tanzanian Parliament, to help promote economic, trade and investment ties between Vietnam and Tanzania, matching the two countries’ strong political relations.
