Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi will create the best conditions for foreign investors, including those from India, to boost cooperation activities with the city, especially in smart city building, information technology, education and training, trade and tourism.
The statement was made by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at a reception on September 3 for Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma, who made a courtesy call at the beginning of his tenure in Vietnam.
Chung wished the ambassador success during his working term in Vietnam, contributing to the development of the two countries’ relations.
The official hoped the diplomat will serve as a bridge to step up collaboration between Hanoi and New Delhi as well as other Indian localities.
The Indian ambassador said the friendship between India and Vietnam has been developing in recent years, but has yet been on par with the potential of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.
He affirmed that India is willing to share experience with Vietnam in the fields of mutual interest while seeking connection and cooperation opportunities between localities.
The launch of direct air routes between Hanoi and New Delhi and other big cities of India will make it easier for bilateral exchanges, he added.
The ambassador said he hopes to welcome a delegation of the Hanoi People’s Committee to visit India and New Delhi soon to talk in details cooperation possibilities in the future./.
