Hanoi hosts international industrial exhibition

Nearly 250 businesses, including 100 foreign companies from the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia and Russia, are showcasing their latest products and technologies at the Vietnam International Industrial Fair 2014 (VIIF 2014), which commenced in Hanoi on October 21.
Nearly 250 businesses, including 100 foreign companies from the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia and Russia, are showcasing their latest products and technologies at the Vietnam International Industrial Fair 2014 (VIIF 2014), which commenced in Hanoi on October 21.

During the four-day event, businesses will introduce their equipment for heavy industry, energy, mining, mechanical engineering, support industries and the environment.

A number of events to promote trade and investment will be organised during the expo, including a Vietnam-Russia science forum on October 22-23 which aims to foster cooperation on science, technology and educational reform between Vietnamese and Russian firms.

A highlight of this year’s expo, in its 23rd year so far, is the display area designed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Market Management with assistance from the European Trade Policy and Investment Support Project.

The annual fair is one of the most prestigious economic promotion campaigns in Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said, adding that it contributes greatly to economic development and increases businesses’ trade.-VNA
