Using its role as Vietnam’s political and economic centre, Hanoi has paid attention to upgrading its infrastructure and intensifying investment attraction in order to prepare for national and international events, stated a Hanoi leader at a reception for the Mayor of Busan city Hur Nam Sik.
At the April 2 meeting, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao affirmed that the Republic of Korea and Busan city in particular have poured a large amount of official development assistance (ODA) and foreign direct investment (FDI) into projects in Hanoi, such as the two tallest buildings managed by Keangnam and Lotte.
The capital pledges to create favourable conditions on administrative procedures to receive more big and environment-friendly projects, Thao said.
For his part, Hur thanked Hanoi authorities for facilitating his city’s businesses.
He said that through this visit, Busan wishes to further boost investment between the two cities, as well as complete necessary works to help its companies attend the 2014 Vietnam International Travel Mart held in Hanoi on April 3-6.
The event offers a chance for the businesses to seek investment and partnership opportunities in Hanoi, he added.-VNA
