Hanoi (VNA) – Restaurants and bars in Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district will be allowed to open until 2 AM instead of 24 PM as before since September 1, according to a recent decision by the Hanoi People’s Committee.
The rule is only being applied in the last three days of each week on a trial basis.
The decision has received positive feedback from travel companies who hope that it will make tourists stay longer in Hanoi.
Nguyen Tien Dat, Deputy Director of the Hanoi-based TransViet Travel Company, said that allowing entertainment and eating places to open until 2 AM is good news because it makes Hanoi more attractive with entertainment activities at night.
Nguyen Cong Hoan, Deputy Director of the HanoiRed Tours Travel Company, recommended the city should plan a particular area for night entertainment, so security will be ensured better.
Along with the permission, the city requires facilities that open late at night to ensure conditions on safety and security, as well as to have good sound-proofing. - VNA
