Hanoi to host seminar on French literature

A seminar on French literature is scheduled to take place on April 25 at the National Library of Vietnam in Hanoi as part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomacy (1973-2023).
Hanoi (VNA) - A seminar on French literature isscheduled to take place on April 25 at the National Library of Vietnam in Hanoias part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-France diplomacy(1973-2023).

Dr.Tran Van Cong of Hanoi University and Dr. Tran Le Bao Chau of Ho Chi Minh CityUniversity of Education will deliver speeches at the event, reported Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

Theseminar, jointly organised by the National Library of Vietnam and the InternationalOrganisation of LaFrancophonie (OIF) will introduce the history of French literature as well asthe International Francophonie's Five Continents Award.

Theaward has been part of the OIF’s project since 2001 and it aims to honourtalents in literary who reflect cultural diversity through French literaryworks across five continents.

Thepurpose of the event is to introduce French literature in the nation whilepromoting the French book space which saw cooperation between the NationalLibrary of Vietnam and the OIF in the 2019 to 2022 period.

Thefunction will get underway during the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023taking place from March 16 to April 30 at the National Library of Vietnam./.
