– Secretary ofthe Party Committee and Governor of Laos’ Vientiane capital Sinlavong Khoutphaythounreceived visiting Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Hungin the Lao capital city on March 13.

Lauding outcomes of bilateral cooperationin the past time, the Vientiane leader thanked Hanoi for its support for hiscity’s infrastructure and human resources development.

For his part, Hung congratulated Vientianeon its significant achievements, especially high economic growth rate andlocals’ improving living conditions.

Both sides pledged to work closely incarrying out their important roles this year as hosts of events marking the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations as well as 40 years since thetwo countries signed their friendship and cooperation treaty.

They discussed ways to boost cooperation andexperience sharing in the sectors of urban transport, trade connectivity andadministrative reform towards the single-window mechanism.

They also mentioned the opening of a Hanoirestaurant in Vientiane and a Vientiane restaurant in Hanoi to promote theirrespective culinary delights.

On March 14, Hung and his delegation willattend the 10th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum,themed “2030 Road Map for Sustainable Transport - Aligning with SustainableDevelopment Goals”.-VNA
