Vientiane (VNA) – Hanoi prioritizes developing friendship and cooperationwith Lao localities, said Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’sCouncil Phung Thi Hong Ha.

Whilepaying courtesy calls to Secretary of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Councilof Vientiane AnouphapTounalom and member of the LPRP Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the LaoNational Assembly Khambay Damlath on April 21, Ha said the capital city of Hanoi is at theforefront of Vietnam's global integration with extensive cooperation with manycapitals and cities worldwide.

Hanoialways wishes to work closely with the Lao Party, State, localities andpartners to share information and experience and offer mutual support in nationalconstruction and development, thereby not only bringing practical benefits toboth sides but also contributing to developing the two countries' special friendship, shesaid.

Speakinghighly of the visit with practical and effective activities, the Lao officials wished that the two capitals would continue strengthening their friendship formutual development.

Thesame day, the Hanoi delegation attended a conference on developing raw materialareas and connecting consumption between Hanoi and Vientiane, attended thesigning of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Hanoimunicipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vientianemunicipal Department of Labour and Social Welfare./.

Khanh Hoa gears up for elections, facilitates voting for tourists

Thanh requested a thorough review of voter lists to ensure all eligible voters can exercise their rights. Polling teams were asked to establish advisory groups to assist voters when needed. He also stressed the need to make arrangements so that tourists visiting Nha Trang can cast their ballots in accordance with regulations.

Central Theoretical Council for 2026-2031 term established

Tenth Vietnam–China border defence friendship exchange to feature innovations

Scheduled for March 18–19 in Quang Ninh province of Vietnam and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the exchange aims to realise high-level common perceptions between the two Parties and countries on deepening substantive defence cooperation, strengthening friendship and solidarity, and promoting practical collaboration among border protection forces, local authorities and people in border areas, thereby contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
