Hanoi, Vientiane strengthen multifaceted cooperation

Vientiane (VNA) – Hanoialways gives high priority to promoting multifaceted cooperation with Vientianefor the development of the two cities as well as the special traditionalfriendship between the two Parties, States and people, said Secretary of theHanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai.

During his talks with Secretary ofthe Party Committee and Mayor of Vientiane Sinlavong Khutphaythoune in the Laocapital on November 25, Hai said it was the first time high-ranking  delegations of the two cities have paidmutual visits in a year.

Khutphaythoune hailed Hai’s visitwhich took place as the two countries are celebrating the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 40th anniversary of thesigning of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

They noted with satisfactionabout bilateral comprehensive links over the past years with a number ofeffective projects, adding that Hanoi assisted Vientiane in building the VientianePolitics – Public Administration School and the traditional house of the VientianeMilitary Command, as well as launching joint agriculture projects.

The two officials expressed theirwish to continue stepping up cooperative activities in different areas.

The two sides signed a Memorandumof Understanding on cooperation for the 2017-2020 period, under which the twocities will continue the exchange of visits by high-ranking delegations andstrengthen coordination between departments and agencies. Hanoi will helpVientiane with administrative management and technological application in Stateadministrative agencies.

The cities agreed to boost tradeand exports and consider a project to build Hanoi trade and tourism centre inVientiane and a similar one of Vientiane in Hanoi.

The two officials vowed tostrengthen the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensivepartnership between Vietnam and Laos.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese delegation presented20 sets of computers to the municipal Party Committee and administration ofVientiane.-VNA

US Ambassador awarded Friendship Order

Vietnam seeks stronger partnership with Singapore

The Deputy PM expressed his hope that Lee will continue to support efforts to further advance Vietnam–Singapore relations in a more practical and effective manner, as well as provide advice and share experience in developing financial centres and promoting connectivity between the two countries’ international financial centres.
