Hanoi (VNA) – The People’s Committee of Hanoi has issued a plan to cut logistics costs and effectively connect the city’s transport system.
The plan calls for a review of the decentralisation of management over logistics activities in the city to ensure clarity and effectiveness, avoiding overlapping that leads to irresponsibility and affecting businesses.
The committee requested the revision of construction plans and planning of sectors, adding and adjusting contents related to infrastructure and production structure to suit infrastructure and logistics development targets, while also integrating logistics services in sectors’ development strategies.
Logistics centres along belt roads will be constructed, connecting storage and distribution facilities in agricultural and industrial areas as well as industrial parks.
The city will provide land and resources for the construction and operation of logistics infrastructure, while supporting domestic and foreign firms and organisations in logistics services.
Alongside, the city will tighten the management, inspection and control of the logistics market and logistics service trading activities, guiding enterprises to complete all business procedures and conditions to ensure the satisfaction of standards.
Violations will be strictly handled to ensure a healthy logistics market, thus boosting the growth of business.
Meanwhile, the city will focus on affiliating with localities in the capital region and northern key economic region as well as cities and provinces nationwide, research institutes and universities.
Hanoi will organise training courses to update knowledge of logistics for State management officials and businesses, while working to form a personnel training network for logistics firms.-VNA
