A workshop will take place in Hanoi on July 30 to discuss cross-border e-commerce with Amazon and opportunities for exports, according to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan.

Hanoi (VNA) - A workshop will take place in Hanoi on July 30 to discusscross-border e-commerce with Amazon and opportunities for exports, according toDeputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi PhuongLan.

The eventwill be hosted by the department in partnership with the Ministry of Industryand Trade (MoIT)’s e-Commerce and Digital Economy Agency, the Hanoi Small andMedium Enterprises Association, and Amazon Global Selling.

It formspart of Hanoi’s plan on e-commerce development this year, Lan told a pressconference on July 24.

COVID-19has triggered travel restrictions worldwide, creating difficulties for Vietnameseexporters to ship their goods by air or sea. Trading on Amazon, however, wouldremove barriers and help them boost shipments, Lan said.

Accordingto a report from the WTO, the pandemic has made it clear that e-commerce can benot only an important tool or solution for consumers during a crisis but alsoan economic driver for both domestic growth and international trade.

Lan addedthat her department will coordinate with the MoIT to help local producers seekalternative sources of materials overseas and new markets, as well as make themost of new-generation free trade agreements such as the Comprehensive andProgressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the EU-VietnamFTA (EVFTA)./.

Promoting high-quality rice exports amid mounting challenges

Fuel prices rise sharply from 3 pm on March 7

Capital’s fuel market remains stable after March 5 price adjustment

Operations at several petrol stations across Hanoi have run normally. Along major routes, petrol stations remained open and continued to serve customers as usual. The number of vehicles refueling showed no major changes compared to the days before the price adjustment. Sales activities continued without interruption, and there were no long queues or supply disruptions.
