Hanoi’s luxury hotels fully booked by Q1, 2018

High-end hotels in Hanoi have been fully booked by Q1, 2018, showing a robust sign, especially when the city is carrying out a myriad of investment solutions to make a breakthrough in tourism.

Hanoi (VNA) – High-end hotels in Hanoi have been fully booked by Q1,2018, showing a robust sign, especially when the city is carrying out a myriadof investment solutions to make a breakthrough in tourism.

Over 11 million visitors came to the city in the first six months of this year,including 2 million foreigners, up 13 percent from the same time last year.

Despiteowning 600 accommodations, the city is still seeking to deal with the insufficientnumber of top-end hotels to meet demand of travellers, especially those fromforeign countries.

Apart from four-star and five-star hotels built from April, 2011, includingMarriot, Apricot, high-grade Landmark-Keangnam hotel and residence and Lottehotel and apartment, the city has zoned off other places to build luxury hotels.

In the next five years, 20 luxury hotels with about 20,000 rooms will enter themarket. Some are expected to be constructed in Hoan Kiem district, near HoanKiem (Returned Sword) Lake, in the heart of the city.

Hanoitourist Travel Company plans to build a hotel at No.1 Ba Trieu Street andrenovate Hoa Binh hotel on Ly Thuong Kiet Street. Meanwhile, a new 300-roomhotel complex is planned to sit on Thai Ha street, Dong Da district, a 500-roomhotel in My Dinh, Nam Tu Liem district and a 600-room hotel in Dong Anhdistrict.

Thecity will pay special attention to branching out new tourism products,popularising the city’s images to domestic and international friends andlinking with other localities to develop tourism.

This year, the city is striving to welcome 23.61 million travellers, ayear-on-year increase of 8 percent, with the number of foreign tourists standingat 4.3 million. -VNA
