Hau Giang: Over 15,000 farmers join agriculture transformation project

More than 15,000 farmers in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang will benefit from the Vietnam Sustainable Agriculture Transformation project (VnSAT), said Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Truong Canh Tuyen.

Hau Giang (VNA) – More than 15,000 farmers in the Mekong Deltaprovince of Hau Giang will benefit from the Vietnam Sustainable AgricultureTransformation project (VnSAT), said Vice Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Truong Canh Tuyen.

This year, the province plans to sign contracts with local businesses tosustainably cultivate rice on an area of 1,000 hectares and increase 30 percentin net profit of each hectare. Local farmers will receive farming techniquetraining and participate in new cooperatives.

Vice Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural DevelopmentLe Van Doi said that adjustment will be made to the agricultural developmentmaster plan to concretise plans for rice production in large-scale fields whichare suitable for sustainable agriculture transformation.

Rice land management and use policies, new-style rural areas building programmeand cooperative support programme will be integrated with the VnSAT to bolsterlocal production.

The province will pay due attention to communication campaigns among localresidents and development of the collective economy. It will work to establishmodels of production, material supply and production consumption.

Nearly 37,000 local people will benefit from the VnSAT in Hau Giang provincewhich has a total capital of 14 million USD. The project is implemented in over40,000 hectares of rice in 32 communes during 2015-2020.-VNA

Vietravel Airlines to add new route serving Lunar New Year travel peak

During the peak period of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in 2026, Vietravel Airlines plans to operate six – eight flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route, three flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh routes; and two flights daily on the Ho Chi Minh City – Quy Nhon route.

Can Tho–Ca Mau expressway fully opens from January 19

The new section, together with the Can Tho–Hau Giang segment that has been operating smoothly since late December last year, has completed the entire 110.85-km route. With total investment exceeding 27.52 trillion VND (1.04 billion USD), the four-lane expressway is built to modern standards and serves as a key transport artery linking major economic and political centres, industrial zones and seaports in the southwestern region.
