Hau Giang (VNA) – The Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang expects to complete construction on 17 medical facilities in mid-2016.

The construction is valued at more than 1.5 trillion VND (67.5 million USD). It includes a 500-bed general hospital and a 50-bed tuberculosis hospital. Meanwhile, 15 other projects are underway, which will accommodate 1,150 beds overall.

The province has thus far mobilised 231 billion VND (10.4 million USD) from local businesses to upgrade and build new commune-level medical centres, particularly in mountainous and remote areas.

It also invested more than 150 billion VND (6.75 million USD) for medical equipment and waste treatment.
