According to Nguyen HoangPhuc, deputy head of the centre, more than 16,000 people in the country haveserious heart, kidney, liver and lung problems that could require organtransplants. More than 300,000 people have cornea problems which need surgery.
Phuc said there was ashortage of organs for transplantation. The ceremony to encourage organdonations is held regularly by the national centre at various locations in thecountry.-VNA
