HCM City aids 50,000 USD to Lao flood victims

Ho Chi Minh City on Nov. 4 presented to the Lao Consulate General with 50,000 USD as its donations to Champasak province to help it overcome the consequences of the recent floods.

The event saw the presence of representatives from the municipal Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of External Relations and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

Dung Quan Ha, Chairman of the HCM City Fatherland Front Committee conveyed sympathy to victims in Champasak province over the losses caused by the floods and said he hoped the locals will soon stabilise their lives.

Lao Consul General Southideth Phommalat expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese Party, government and people, especially HCM City people for their support. He said that this manifests deep sentiments between the Vietnamese and Lao people./.
