HCM City (VNA) – A delegation from HoChi Minh City, led by Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen ThanhPhong, on April 5 started a working visit to Japan to boost cooperation withthe Japanese localities.

The nine-day visit, which takes the delegationthrough Aichi, Nagano and Hokkaido prefectures, aims to reaffirm the city’scommitment to develop relations with Japanese localities in a more practicalmanner.

The city hopes to boost cooperation with Aichiprefecture in economics, trading, investment, culture and people-to-people diplomacy,thus luring more investment from the Japanese industrial hub to Ho Chi MinhCity, particularly in transport, storage, logistics and high-tech industrialproduction.

In Nagano prefecture, the delegation wants tolearn the locality’s experience in addressing environmental issues, waterpollution and protecting water resources.

During their stay in Hokkaido prefecture, theywill visit local smart-agriculture models and explore cooperation opportunitiesin hi-tech agriculture, as well as promoting tourism development and tradeexchanges between HCM City and Hokkaido.-VNA
