HCM City: CPI rises by 0.68 percent in July

Ho Chi Minh City ’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.68 percent in July over the previous month and 3.83 percent compared with the beginning of the year.
Ho Chi Minh City ’s consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.68 percent in July over the previous month and 3.83 percent compared with the beginning of the year.

According to the city’s Statistics Office, in the first seven months of this year, CPI registered an average monthly increase of 0.54 percent.

Commodities saw the highest price rise included transport-post-telecommunications services with 2.69 percent, housing-electricity, water, fuel and constructional materials, 1.5 percent.

Culture-entertainment-tourism services and household equipment and utensils saw a slight increase in CPI.

Only in this month, foodstuff prices experienced a slight decrease with cattle meat falling by 1.49 percent, poultry meat, 1.24 percent and vegetables, 3.28 percent.

However, processed meat rose by 0.23 percent, egg, 1.57 percent, seafood, 2.06 percent and fruits, 2.57 percent.


This month, the gold price dropped 0.14 percent and the price of the US dollar rose by 1.3 percent./.
