HCM City: First startup firm in IC development established

The Vietnam High Efficiency Software (VHES) Corporation officially debuted on March 16, becoming the first high-tech startup enterprise formed under the integrated circuit (IC) industry development programme of Ho Chi Minh City.

HCM City (VNA) – The Vietnam HighEfficiency Software (VHES) Corporation officially debuted on March 16, becomingthe first high-tech startup enterprise formed under the integrated circuit (IC) industrydevelopment programme of Ho Chi Minh City.

The firm launched its first product using smart grid development called highefficiency software (HES), which is an intermediate software system connectingthe meter data management system (MDMS) and the terminal network includingModem/DCU and electrometers.

The software collects and saves data fromthe terminal equipment, while managing and providing information for the MDMS.

VHES’s products were created with support from the municipal Department ofScience and Technology, the IC DesignResearch and Education Centre (ICDREC) of the VietnamNational University Ho Chi Minh City and the HCM City Power Corporation.   

ICDREC will transfer part of its technologies to VHES to continue perfecting HES.

Nguyen Van Ly,Vice General Director of the HCM City Power Corporation said hisfirm has outlined a grid modernisation programme to 2020, focusing on buildinga smart grid, automating operation and collecting data remotely.

According to VHES, the HES application will help save 160 billion VND on managingHCM City’s electricity a year.

Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee said smartmanagement will help operate city’s grid safely and stably, adding that municipalauthorities plan to order VHES to research management software for other fields.-VNA

Project 06 has shown tangible results, he said, highlighting the country has completed the issuance of 100% of chip-based citizen ID cards, activated over 61 million electronic identity accounts, and provided 40 utilities on the VNeID application.
