Ho Chi Minh City wishes to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture and energy with Denmark, according to the Deputy Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong.
She made the remark at a Vietnam-Denmark business workshop in the city on January 21 on the occasion of a visit of Danish Minister of Trade and Development Cooperation Mogens Jensen.
The minister is accompanied by a delegation of 40 Danish companies, operating in food, energy and green technology, which are eager to seek Vietnamese partners.
To date, the Danish delegation has signed three MoUs on cooperating with Vietnamese businesses in the fields of food and oil and gas.
Currently, about 80 Danish companies are doing business in Ho Chi Minh City.
So far, Denmark has invested in 42 projects in Ho Chi Minh City, valued at 59.3 million USD, ranking 24 th among foreign investors in the city.
In 2014, Ho Chi Minh City imported goods worth 200 million USD from Denmark.-VNA
