The Ho Chi Minh City’s Union of Friendship Organisations in collaboration with the municipal Vietnam-Hungary Friendship Association (HVHFA) on August 15 held a ceremony to mark Hungarian National Day (August 20).
Speaking at the event, HVHFA Chairman Le Minh Triet spoke highly of the kindness and sincere help of Hungarian people during the Vietnamese people’s fight for national liberation and reunification. He also emphasised that the two countries have jointly opened a new page in cooperation and development.
The leaders of HCM City and the Hungarian capital Budapest have signed many programmes of cooperation, boosting and expanding the two-sided relationship in many fields such as public transport, water, urban development and management, he added.
On the occasion, the Hungarian Embassy’s representatives in Vietnam mentioned the good relationship between the two countries in recent years, especially cultural and educational exchanges.
The representatives also said the two sides have been striving to make their relationship deeper and closer.
Hungary has 11 direct investment projects (FDI) in Vietnam focusing on industrial processing and manufacturing, with a total registered capital of 45.2 million USD.-VNA
