The Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, Le Hoang Quan, stated this at his August 27 meeting with Hiroto Arakawa, Vice-President of Japan’s International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Quan expressed his sincere thanks for the ODA that Japan has provided to Vietnam in the past, particularly to HCM City , for infrastructure projects such as the new international terminal at Tan Son Nhat Airport , the East-West Corridor and the Binh Hung wastewater treatment plant. He said that these projects had greatly helped the City’s socio-economic development.

During their meeting, both reviewed the progress of ODA projects funded by JICA and discussed ways of speeding up site clearance along the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Tay Expressway, as well as future plans for the urban railway network.-VNA
