HCM City (VNA) Ho Chi Minh City Police said on June 14 that they are consolidating dossiers to deal with 310 people who caused public disorder in recent days.

Seven of them are temporarily detained, with one facing criminal proceedings. Meanwhile, administrative punishments have been imposed on 175 others. Thirty eight have been allowed to go home if they have guarantors from their families and commit not to repeat their actions.

The people are suspected of violating laws at different levels, from harming national security to affecting social order and safety

Municipal police have blamed exiled reactionary organisations for orchestrating the crowds and causing public disturbances.

Police and other forces have made efforts to control the situation in hotspots like Hoang Van Thu Park, PouYuen Company and the centre of the city.

At a working session with police forces from southern cities and provinces on June 13, Minister of Public Security Sen. Lieut. Gen. To Lam asked localities to pay attention to tricks employed by exiled hostile forces, stressing the need to promptly bring the masterminds of the disturbances to justice.

Police of cities and provinces need to protect safety at Party and State agencies in the localities, residents’ houses and production facilities, while rolling out plans to prevent crowds causing disorder and vandalising assets, and ensuring traffic safety, especially at National Highway 1, he said.

At the same time, they should join hands in communication work to help people understand guidelines of the Party and the State, the officer said.-VNA
