HCM City (VNA) – Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received visiting deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Department of the Russian President Alexander Anikin in the city on February 20.
Sharing the city’s anti-corruption work, Phong said the municipal authorities have paid due attention to directing the implementation of measures to fight corruption and wastefulness with concrete programmes and plans.
The city has enhanced supervision over organisations and competent agencies to promptly and effectively prevent acts that trouble people and businesses as well as set up delegations to inspect, receive and handle crime denouncements, he said.
Annually, the local authorised agencies coordinate in assessing people’s satisfaction towards administrative agencies while the municipal leaders have focused on corruption prevention to reinforce residents’ trusts in administrations, he added.
The HCM City leader proposed the Anti-Corruption Department of the Russian President and the city’s authorised agencies strengthen cooperation in this field through increasing the exchange of delegations, and organising seminars and training courses on anti-corruption work.
For his part, Alexander Anikin said his visit aims to enhance collaboration with the Vietnam Government Inspectorate in fields signed between both sides.
Affirming huge potential for development cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, he said his agency is willing to contribute to the common development of the countries by sharing anti-corruption experience with Vietnam in general and HCM City in particular.-VNA
