HCM City (VNA) - The HCM City Department of Health has established criteria for evaluating the risk of COVID-19 infections at medical facilities around the city.
It developed 34 criteria in ten different risk groups, including those relating to the density of people visiting health facilities, screening people with risk factors, using protective equipment, organising quarantine areas, cleaning and disinfection work, preparing necessary knowledge and skills for medical staff, organising working time in line with disease prevention regulations, managing information on people that are infected or suspected of being infected, and conducting communications work to raise public awareness about disease prevention.
The infection risk index is divided into five levels: very-low risk, low risk, medium risk, high risk, and very-high risk.
Tang Chi Thuong, Vice Director of the Department, said the criteria will apply to all types of medical facilities in the city.
It is expected to be a useful tool that helps manage the risk posed by cross-infection at health facilities.
The Department has ordered all hospitals and health facilities in the city to self-assess their risk level and introduce measures to minimise infections and ensure the health and safety of both patients and medical staff./.
