The 13th International Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood 2019) is scheduled to take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City from September 18-21.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 13thInternational Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood 2019) is scheduled to takeplace at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City fromSeptember 18-21.

It will be co-organised by the YorkersTrade and Marketing Services Co. and the Handicrafts and Wood IndustryAssociation of HCM City (HAWA).

According to the organising board, a totalof 483 businesses of 30 countries and territories have registered toparticipate in the event, including famous brands from Italy, Germany, Austria,China, Spain and the US.

In addition, a number of symposiums andworkshops will be held at the VietnamWood 2019 to share knowledge andexperience in wood manufacturing and processing.

They will focus on the topics of technologytransfer, productivity improvement, solutions to improve quality of woodindustry in digital age, and material and practical application in woodenfurniture design.

Vietnam’s forestry exports reached 7.08billion USD in the first eight months of 2019, a year-on-year rise of 18.6percent.

Wood and timber products grossed 6.66billion USD in export turnover, according to the Vietnam Administration ofForestry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The forestry sector has been demanded totake measures to achieve the exports target of 11 billion USD for this year./.

Car sales increase sharply in June

Passenger cars accounted for the largest number of sales with 22,934 vehicles, up 14.6% over the previous month. Meanwhile, sales of commercial vehicles reached 8,782, down 2%, while specialised vehicle sales reached 261, up 23% over the previous month.

HCM City approves 17 housing projects for foreign ownership

The HCM City Department of Construction will publish detailed project information on its official portal and has been instructed to inspect four other projects with foreign involvement in sensitive areas: Hung Vuong 1 – R16, Hung Vuong 2 – R13, Star Hill – C15B (former District 7), and The Prince Residence (former Phu Nhuan district).

2025 coffee exports hit target, set for record 7.5 billion USD

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), Vietnam exported an estimated 953,900 tonnes of coffee worth 5.45 billion USD in the first six months of 2025, increasing by 5.3% in volume and 67.5% in value compared to the same period in 2024.
