Hanoi (VNA) – The 13th International Woodworking Industry Fair (VietnamWood 2019) is scheduled to take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City from September 18-21.
It will be co-organised by the Yorkers Trade and Marketing Services Co. and the Handicrafts and Wood Industry Association of HCM City (HAWA).
According to the organising board, a total of 483 businesses of 30 countries and territories have registered to participate in the event, including famous brands from Italy, Germany, Austria, China, Spain and the US.
In addition, a number of symposiums and workshops will be held at the VietnamWood 2019 to share knowledge and experience in wood manufacturing and processing.
They will focus on the topics of technology transfer, productivity improvement, solutions to improve quality of wood industry in digital age, and material and practical application in wooden furniture design.
Vietnam’s forestry exports reached 7.08 billion USD in the first eight months of 2019, a year-on-year rise of 18.6 percent.
Wood and timber products grossed 6.66 billion USD in export turnover, according to the Vietnam Administration of Forestry under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The forestry sector has been demanded to take measures to achieve the exports target of 11 billion USD for this year./.
