HCM City to host Southern Cuisine, Fruit Festivals

Ho Chi Minh City will host the Southern Land Cuisine Festival and the Southern Fruit Festival as part of its strategy to stimulate tourism demand in 2013, according to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Southern Land CuisineFestival will be held at Dam Sen Park from May 16-19 while the SouthernFruit Festival will take place from June 1-12 at the Suoi Tien touristsite.

Accordingly, some 80 booths from 15 provincesand cities will be installed in the Southern Land Cuisine Festival,which is expected to see cooking performances featuring the coastalcentral, Central Highlands and southern regions.

The Southern Fruit Festival will honour agricultural values of thesouthern region with a variety of quality fruits to serve both domesticdemand and export.-VNA/VGP
