HCM City to host Vietnam’s largest tennis fixture

The 2012 Men’s Futures – Tanimex Cup, a professional tennis tournament of the International Tennis Federation, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from April 2-22.
The 2012 Men’s Futures – Tanimex Cup, a professional tennis tournamentof the International Tennis Federation, will take place in Ho Chi MinhCity from April 2-22.

The tournament, which has attracted more than280 players from 52 countries and territories, will be divided intothree consecutive sub-tournaments, said the Ho Chi Minh City TennisFederation on March 28.

French player Clement Reix, who is the 461th on the world’s rating, is ranked as the number one seed of the tournament.

Three Vietnamese players, Do Minh Quan, Nguyen Hoang Thien and Le Quoc Khanh have received wild cards to enter the final round.

The 2012 Men’s Futures is considered an indispensable event for anyone who wishes to become a professional tennis player.

Theevent presents a golden opportunity for young Vietnamese players tolearn tactics from international players and win a wild card to enterprofessional competitions.

The event’s prizes amount to 30,000 USD in total.-VNA
