HCM City to need 265,000 workers in 2014

Ho Chi Minh City-based businesses will recruit 265,000 workers next year, according to the municipal Centre for Manpower Need and Labour Market Forecast.
Ho Chi Minh City-based businesses will recruit 265,000 workers nextyear, according to the municipal Centre for Manpower Need and LabourMarket Forecast.

The recruitment demand willfocus on the spheres of trade, services, health care, tourism,insurance, mechanical engineering, construction, information technology,electronics and electricity.

The labour marketis expected to see stable growth thanks to the recovery of the city’seconomy and real estate market next year.

In2013, unemployment has posed problems, while the quality and quantity oflabourers has fallen short of the demand of the city’s key industrialsectors.

Only half of students can find suitable jobs after leaving school.

Deputy Director of the centre Tran Anh Tuan stressed the need toexpand activities to introduce information about jobs at schools andtraining institutions, and increase the training of soft skills,including effective communication, flexibility, problem-solving, andcreative thinking, for students.

It is alsonecessary for the city to build preferential policies on training andattract human resources to its main sectors and social sciences.-VNA

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year
