The 11th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival 2015, themed “Impression of the World’s Heritage in Vietnam”, will take place at 23/9 Park from March 26-29, as released at a press conference on March 12.
Around 40 travel agents, hotels and universities have registered to showcase their tourism services and products and promotional programs in more than 150 booths, said Deputy Chairman of the municipal Department of Tourism La Quoc Khanh.
The festival will feature miniature replicas of the world’s heritage sites in Vietnam as well as performances of intangible cultural heritage such as Nha Nhac Cung Dinh (Vietnamese court music), Quan ho (Duo of love songs), and Cong Chieng Tay Nguyen (Highland Gongs).
The annual event will offer an opportunity for travel enterprises to introduce their new and attractive products and services to consumers and develop the city’s tourism sector.
This year, the festival is expected to attract 300,000 visitors.
Vietnam is home to 22 world heritage recognised by the UNESCO, including two natural heritage sites (Ha Long Bay and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park); five cultural heritage (the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, the Citadel of the Ho Dynasty, the Complex of Hue Monuments, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary), and one mixed heritage (Trang An Landscape Complex).-VNA
