HCM City’s CPI stable in June

HCM City (VNA) – The consumer priceindex (CPI) of Ho Chi Minh City in June remained unchanged from the previousmonth, but rose 3.27 percent compared to the same period last year, reportedthe municipal statistics office on June 29.

[CPI up 4.15 percent in six months]

According to the office, the pricesof four out of 11 goods brackets represented marginal month-on-month increases,with the highest rate of 0.46 percent in the group of housing, electricity,water, fuel and construction materials.

The price of home appliances was up 0.11percent, while that of garments, hats and footwear and of beverage andcigarette grew 0.02 and 0.01 percent, respectively.

The office said that in June, goodsgroups with declining prices included transport (down 0.79 percent); culture,entertainment, and tourism (0.15 percent); education services (0.11 percent);and restaurant services (0.11 percent).

Medicine-health services and postalservices – telecommunications witnessed no monthly change in prices.

In June, gold and US dollar pricesdropped 0.52 and 0.18 percent from May.-VNA
