Hanoi (VNA) – Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein Alois hailedVietnam’s increasing role in the international area at his reception for Ambassadorof Vietnam to Switzerland and Liechtenstein Le Linh Lan on June 27.

Ambassador Le Linh Lan presented her credential to Hereditary Prince ofLiechtenstein Alois on the day.

At the following meeting, Lan conveyed Party General Secretary and PresidentNguyen Phu Trong’s invitation to visit Vietnam to Prince Hans-Adam II andHereditary Prince Alois.

As Vietnam persistently pursues a foreign policy of independence,self-reliance, multilateralisation, and diversification of internationalrelations, the country wants to promote relations with Liechtenstein, theVietnamese diplomat stressed.

Hereditary Prince Alois, for his part, congratulated Ambassador Linh on herappointment, and expressed his admiration for the robust economic developmentin Vietnam and the country’s increasing role in the international area.

He hoped he can pay a visit to the Southeast Asian country on the occasion ofthe signing of an agreement on double taxation avoidance between the twonations, or when a free trade deal between Vietnam and the European Free TradeAssociation (EFTA) is inked.

Before the credential presenting ceremony, Ambassador Lan met LiechtensteinForeign Minister Aurelia Frick.

Minister Aurelia Frick hoped that the Vietnamese Government would negotiate andsign the agreement on double taxation avoidance with her country, and completelegal framework to boost two-way trade.

Liechtenstein businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market, she said,wishing that the Vietnam-EFTA free trade pact will serve as a catalyst toenhance trade and investment ties between Vietnam and the EFTA, andLiechtenstein in particular.

Congratulating Vietnam on becoming a non-permanent member of the UN SecurityCouncil for 2020-2021 tenure, she said that Liechtenstein wants to step upcollaboration with Vietnam in the UN framework.-VNA

The visit comes as the two countries are actively preparing to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027. Vietnam, RoK promote friendship, mutual understanding

Around 350,000 Vietnamese are currently living, studying and working in the RoK, while some 200,000 Koreans are residing and working in Vietnam. Together with Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families, these communities have become natural bridges connecting the two peoples.

PM Le Minh Hung’s Laos visit to help deepen bilateral relations

The two countries established diplomatic relations on September 5, 1962. As Vietnam and Laos enter a new development period, their relationship has been elevated to a new level under the framework of “great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion.” The addition of “strategic cohesion” reflects not only the long-standing foundation of bilateral ties but also a shared vision, closely linked interests and a common path for the two nations to advance together over the long term.

Vietnam, Panama issue Joint Statement

Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President To Lam and Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino Quintero agreed to intensify high-level dialogue to provide orientations for the development of Vietnam-Panama relations through bilateral visits and meetings between high-ranking leaders of the two States, Governments, and National Assemblies, as well as ministries and sectors of the two countries.
