Heritage train runs across banks of the Red River

The heritage train rolling between Long Bien Station and Gia Lam Station has evoked deep emotions in the guests to this year's Hanoi Creative Design Festival.

Not only the old quarter, and ancient homes, but rough industrial spaces make up the heritage of the capital city.

To authenticate the heritage of the Gia Lam Train Factory, Vietnam Railway Corporation has arranged a train route to run from Long Bien Station a short way to the Gia Lam Station and the Train Factory.

The trains are running within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023, lasting from November 17-26 in the capital city.

On only 4km of track, or 10 minutes of travel, visitors view the 120-year-old Long Bien Bridge and the landscape on both banks of the Red River.

Travelling by train plays an important role in the country's history. It has been somewhat "overshadowed" by the strong development of modern modes of travel. Trains have receded into the background, merely a memory of the previous generation.

At Gia Lam Train Factory, the end point of the train, art performances and art displays have opened in the factories, next to old machinery.

They are not in opposition but on the contrary, resonate with artistic creation to bring an original, and a rare emotional connection for visitors./.
