Ninh Thuan (VNA) - Coastal embankments in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city in the south central province of Ninh Thuan have been damaged by high waves caused by the northeast monsoon, threatening the lives and property of more than 300 households with 1,400 people along the dyke.
According to the Irrigation Sub-department under the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the high waves have caused landslides and subsidence in many sections of the 2,123 metre-long dyke in Dong Hai ward over the last few days.
High capacity vehicles also contributed to the recent degradation of the dyke, residents in Dong Hai ward said.
