HCM City (VNA) – A seminar was held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 14 to discuss measures to develop its key industrial products for the 2018-2020 period.
Experts mulled over the possibility of cooperation among managers, scientists, and businesses in developing the city’s key industrial products.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Ky Phung said the city has provided support for science and technology development, product commercialisation following studies and technological transfer, and start-up incubation.
Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Phuong Dong highlighted the need to acquire feedback from individuals, organisations, and socio-economic sectors on the work.
At the event, managers, scientists, and businesspeople signed cooperation agreements to carry out sci-tech studies, contributing to the process.
Specifically, the Bach Khoa Research Centre for Manufacturing and Engineering signed a deal with the Industrial Automation Advisor Ltd., Co., to develop machinery and assembly lines for the processing of aquatic products.
Meanwhile, the Centre for Applied Geographic Information System of Ho Chi Minh City and the Nam Long Technological JSC will jointly develop Internet-of-Things technology for monitoring floods.
Products in mechanical engineering, information technology, food, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals will also be developed in the city.–VNA
